Fund for Academic Excellence
The Mid-Prairie Foundation's Fund for Academic Excellence gives grants to help meet the ever-changing educational needs of students in the Mid-Prairie School District. Each year, the Fund makes awards for the best new ideas that teachers bring forward to improve classroom and extra-curricular education (e.g., math and sciences; languages and humanities; vocational, performing, and fine arts; etc). In its first two years, ten grants totaling $5,800 were awarded in financial literacy, robotics and coding, musical performance, higher mathematics, agriculture and geography, fine arts, photojournalism, and other subject areas.
The Class of 1966 initiated the Fund in 2016 as part of their 50th graduation celebration and gave it a motto - “Learn, Earn, and Return” – to emphasize the important role that alumni have in the life of a school community. A link to the Fund’s brochure is below.

A fundraising campaign is now under way to expand the grants program from the high school to middle and elementary schools in the district. Alumni, community businesses and organizations, and friends of Mid-Prairie are encouraged to contribute. All donations – large and small – are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated!
