Field Renovation Project
Mid-Prairie Baseball is asking you to be a part of our future. In recent years, the Mid-Prairie baseball program has seen successes including a semi-final appearance in the state tournament, two conference titles, two district championships, and an all-time high of 50 players during the 2021 season. In addition to regular season play, Mid-Prairie has hosted multiple post-season games. These games provide an excellent opportunity for Mid-Prairie Baseball to not only demonstrate the exceptional abilities of our student athletes, but also showcase the support and pride we have within our local community.
To continue providing a high-quality playing experience for Mid-Prairie student athletes and opponents and to ensure the continued ability to host post-season games, the Mid-Prairie baseball program is seeking to improve the conditions of its field and viewing area. We would like to invite you and/or your company or organization to partner with us to complete this renovation project.
Over the years, the quality of the baseball field playing surface has become outdated and sometimes unsafe with uneven surfaces leading to possible player injuries. The field and viewing areas also struggle with improper water drainage. As a result, it is essential that these concerns are addressed as soon as possible. Your generous donation(s) will be used in the following ways: renovation and resurfacing of infield, installation of infield and outfield irrigation systems, replacement of backstop with netting, replacement of retaining walls/viewing area. The renovation is scheduled to start in August 2022.
There are many areas that Mid-Prairie Baseball would like to improve at our facility, but we are going to list these based on the highest priority first in an order that will allow us to focus our fundraising efforts on the items listed in numerical order.
1. Full infield renovation with a new playing surface, sod, pitchers’ mound, batters’ boxes, and catchers’ area. In addition, we will be adding infield irrigation, outfield irrigation, back stop netting (no chain link fence or poles), and a new brick wall. Details of these items can be found here.
Project Costs Total = $182,000
2. New fencing and fence posts from dugouts to outfield fence, new fence topper, outfield windscreen, bullpens, and renovated seating areas. Details of these items can be found here.
Project Costs Total = $113,000
3. New press box, storage and locker room. Tear down of existing press box and placing a pedestal around utilities that currently reside inside existing press box. Details of these items can be found here.
Project Costs Total = $90,000
Total project costs are near $385,000. As you can see with our fundraising thermometer, we have the following amounts raised and would like you to consider donating to improve our facilities. We have received a grant from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation in the amount of $159,040.
