The Insect Folk by Margaret Warner Morley

Written to young children as if the author is a nature guide sitting right beside them while they gaze at the insect in action, this book is composed of short chapters, each devoted to a particular insect. Usually it works best to download a book in its entirety and listen straight through. However, this book works best as a reference guide, using the individual chapters to provide more information about insects your family encounters outdoors. The e-text at Gutenberg is profusely illustrated and can be used along side of the audio text. For use on a computer, just start streaming the chapter audio, and then open another tab and have your child follow along with the illustrations in the Gutenberg text, by clicking “read this book online” under formats.
