The MPHS Rockstar Award has been passed on to someone who has embodied the traits we want our students to have. This person has shown perseverance, resilience, determination in the face of adversity, and problem-solving skills. This person has found people to help out, asked a lot of questions, and learned that sometimes when you ask, “When am I ever gonna need to know this,” the answer is sooner than you think.
Edye Freeman is a true rockstar- she has shown up this year for our students, she puts in the work, and she empathizes with her students while still having high expectations. She has shown kids what lifelong learners look like. She has struggled and been productive. She may not be having the best year ever, but she has made the best of the year she has had.
Thanks, Edye, for being a rockstar learner and teacher! #mphawks

Congratulations to MPHS Student of the Week, Burke Berry! Burke was nominated by Mrs. Schmidt, "Burke Berry has gone above and beyond to try to make others in school be successful. He encourages younger students to try to do the right thing." Great work, Burke!
Congratulations to our MPHS Students of the Week, Elden Kahler and Kyla Karnes! Elden and Kyla were nominated by Mrs. Seward, "Elden and Kyla were amazing and so appreciated last week by volunteering to help out with the Adult Community Education Culinary Class, Knives and Fire: Knife Skills and Stir Fry, that was held in the culinary arts lab on Wednesday evening. They came early and stayed late, helping in so many ways and cleaning up the lab when class was over. Silver Cord hours were available but neither of them needed the hours and volunteered anyway. Adult class members mentioned how much they appreciated the students being involved. Elden and Kyla definitely made a positive impression and confirmed that MPHS students are great!!" Way to go!
Congratulations to MPHS Student of the Week, Joshua Watkins! Joshua was nominated by Mrs. Baker. Mrs. Baker commented, "Joshua is doing all the homework, asking questions, and working hard in class. He also has a great sense of humor. He works well with everyone in class . He makes class a little more light-hearted and fun. I appreciate having him in class." Great work, Joshua!
Congratulations to our MPHS Student of the Week, Lance Schlabaugh! Lance was nominated by Mrs. Schneider, "He works very hard in class each day. He also works hard outside of school, working 20-30 hours a week at DJs Cafe. He works hard to complete his work independently and accurately. In Florida for the service trip, he never stopped working. If he finished one job, he took the initiative to find the next thing to do. I am very proud of Lance's work ethic!" Great job, Lance!
Congratulations to MPHS Student of the Week, Phoebe Shetler! Phoebe was nominated by Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Boman, "Phoebe is currently enrolled in two AP science classes and is doing a phenomenal job!!! She is a hard worker, a kind human, and enjoys learning.
