Beginning this school year, Mid-Prairie High School is implementing an important shift aimed at fostering greater student focus, learning, and well-being. A new bell-to-bell personal electronic device-free policy will require students to keep their devices turned off and stored away throughout the entire school day. Students may leave devices in their vehicle, locker, or backpack. This includes, but is not limited to, phones, tablets, smart watches, and earbuds.

This change is grounded in educational research and widely supported by educators across the country. Studies consistently show that limiting phone use during school hours reduces distractions, improves academic performance, supports mental health, and promotes positive social interactions.

MPHS is committed to creating an even better school culture of engagement, respect, and safe learning for Every Student. Every Day. Removing digital distractions during the school day is a key step to ensuring we continue to improve our school culture and support student success.

This initiative reflects the MPHS commitment to student well-being and a school community where everyone can thrive.

Together, we’re building an even stronger, more focused, and connected school—one free from digital distractions.

Congratulations to MPHS Student of the Week, Kennah Robertson!

Congratulations to our MPHS Student of the week, Kennah Robertson! Kennah was nominated by Mrs. Stutzman, "Kennah deserves an "Atta Girl!" for the way she has started her semester in Spanish 2. She talked with me before the semester began and vowed to try her hardest in Spanish 2. She definitely has. She comes in during Hawk Block often, stayed after school one day for extra help, has created her own flash cards, frequently studies them, and has made sure to reach out when she was unable to be in class. All the makings of a successful semester! Keep it up, Kennah!"
