1976 Team - It is the 50th anniversary of Mid-Prairie’s first playoff team! The Golden Hawks finished the regular season 9-0 and were Eastern Iowa Hawkeye Conference Champions. The 1976 is one of two Mid-Prairie teams to go undefeated in the regular season.   Their outstanding defense had 6 shutouts throughout the year and only allowed 55 points in a 10 game season. They also finished in the top team for points scored and yards gained by any Mid-Prairie team. In 1976, only 8 teams made the state playoffs, Mid-Priaire lost a hard fought battle to Sigourney 14-7.  Jerry Griffith was named all state Defensive Line and Kevin Kos was named all state running back.
