Every game, meet, competition, performance, and activity means something to our students. They’ve practiced. They’ve worked hard. Their coaches and sponsors are ready. Their families are ready to cheer them on.
But we still have to get them there.
That’s where YOU can make a difference.
We are looking for people willing to help drive our students to sporting events and activities throughout the school year. You don’t have to drive every trip. Even helping with a few trips can make a HUGE difference!

We would first like to introduce Emma Kossley, our new English teacher, assistant speech coach, and theater director at MPHS. Emma was born in Philadelphia, PA, and grew up in Cedar Rapids. She earned her degree in Communications - Theatre Teaching and English Teaching from the University of Northern Iowa in 2023. She previously taught at Waterloo West High School for three years and is excited to start her fourth year here at Mid-Prairie. As we wrap up a great year, our libraries have lots of highlights to share! #mphawks
On Wednesday, May 20th, Washington County Riverboat Foundation's Board of Directors voted to fully fund a $101,473 grant to renovate our school libraries!
This project will modernize library spaces at East Elementary, West Elementary, and Middle School through new age-appropriate signage, flexible seating, collaborative work areas, upgraded projection system (Middle School), improved shelving, and updated book collections to better support student learning and instructional use.
In 2017, Mid-Prairie High School received a WCRF grant to transform the library. We are extremely grateful to the Washington County Riverboat Foundation for their continued support of our schools, students, and community! #mphawks
