Ryan Miller, a 4th grader in Mrs. Bender's class, is visiting Mid-Prairie West from Japan. Ryan is staying with his grandparents and experiencing what it is like being in an American classroom. Mr. O'Brien spent many years in Japan, and we found out he actually worked only a few blocks from Ryan's school. Nicholas and Ryan have developed a good friendship in the short amount of time he has been here. Mr. O'Brien came to the 4D class on Friday to share some information about Japan, and with Ryan's help, taught the kids some Japanese phrases. They even learned how to play the Japanese version of Rock, Paper, and Scissors.
