Congratulations to the MPHS jazz band on receiving their 3rd consecutive Division 1 rating at State Jazz Contest on Saturday, January 26. They performed at Edward Stone Middle School in Burlington. They accomplished this even though they had not had a rehearsal during the past 9 days due to the weather.
46 class 2A Iowa high school jazz bands participated in state jazz contest over the past two weekends. Mid-Prairie was one of only 16 class 2A bands in Iowa to receive a Division 1 rating.
In February, the MPHS jazz band will be competing against the best class 2A jazz bands in Iowa at the Tallcorn Jazz Festival at UNI on Thursday, February 14 and the Jim Coffin Jazz Festival at Woodward-Granger High School on Friday, February 22.
