This week, Shawn Sandersfeld and the percussion students from our MPHSAP had the opportunity to present at our IBA (Iowa Bandmasters Association) conference in Des Moines! Mr. Sandersfeld presented on creative and fun ways to include a percussion ensemble into instrumental programs. This conference is for band directors across the entire state of Iowa, and presenters have to apply to present at the conference. Congratulations Mr. Sandersfeld and the HSAP percussion students!!!  As part of the presentation, they were joined by professional percussionist Dirkjan van Groningen from the Netherlands. While in the States, he worked with our 5-8th grade percussionists at the Middle School, the percussion students at the HSAP, and presented at IBA with Mr. Sandersfeld! #mphawks
