During Friday's Kindness Challenge at MPMS, Mr. Lambert's advisory visited MP-East and spent some time with Ms. Mantz's kindergarten class practicing writing sight words, drawing pictures, and writing kind messages. It was a fun day working together! #mphawks

Last night Makenzie Flynn, MP Elementary Special Education teacher, was awarded the Friend of Education Award from Grant Wood AEA during GWAEA's annual award banquet. She was nominated by a GWAEA employee and was the only one selected by a committee at GWAEA to receive this award. She was nominated because of the excellent work she does with students, including the growth many of her students have made with AAC devices. Thanks for all you do for our students and district! #mphawks

Congratulations to MPHS Student of the Week, Abrielle Kraus. Abby was nominated by Mr. Walther, "Abby has come into her own in AP US History and is excelling during S4. Last Friday the middle school completed their kindness challenges! Ms. Steinhart's advisory had the opportunity to support our awesome transportation department. They spent the beautiful afternoon cleaning the inside of the busses.

During Friday's Kindness Challenge at MPMS, Mrs. Fiordelise's advisory students spent some time teaching Mr. Van Soelen's 2nd graders how to play kickball. Everyone had a fun time outside! #mphawks

Congratulations to these Mid-Prairie students on successfully completing Kirkwood's Patient Care Academy which includes a Nurse Aide class! They all passed the written and skills portions of the state of Iowa's Certified Nurse Aide Exam and are now among the compassionate and skilled CNAs on the state's Direct Care Worker Registry. #mphawks

Last week, a group of 4th and 5th graders attended the Young Writer's Conference in Cedar Rapids at Coe College. They participated in workshops and shared their writing with other students. They did a great job representing Mid-Prairie! #mphawks

This year was a successful year for our Mid-Prairie Future Problem Solving teams. At the middle school, there were 4 teams and 1 individual who competed in Global Issues Problem Solving, while at the high school, there were 3 teams and 1 individual. Two individuals at both schools competed in the scenario story writing competition. The following students placed at the state competition in April- Madi Liska, 5th-place middle division scenario writing; Gwen Wunderlich, 2nd-place middle division scenario writing; Maelys Beachy, 1st-place middle division scenario writing; Phoebe Shetler, 1st-place senior division scenario writing; and Charlotte Sieren, 1st-place senior division Global Issues Problem Solving. All 1st-place winners are invited to the FPS International Competition in June. Congratulations to all! #mphawks
