The Golden Hawks team highlights for the year were a big win over Regina in week one, winning a hard fought battle over a ranked West Liberty team at homecoming, and then defeating Solon in the last game of the year to help seal a district championship. This team lost a heartbreaker at Highland Lone Tree in the first round of the playoffs 21-20. Adam Kos was named first team all state running back in 2001.
