In need of Silver Cord hours? Please consider volunteering at the University of Iowa Football games! Our Booster group works in the Sweet Treats stand at all games, serving soft-serve ice-cream, hotdogs, and soft drinks. This is a great way to earn lots of hours! Volunteers need to be 16+ years of age.
Questions? Send an email to cmcclellen@mphawks.org
More information will be mailed directly to those students and parents who volunteer.
Thanks!

Next, we would like to introduce one of our new 5th grade teachers at Mid-Prairie Middle School, Lindsey Sivetts. Lindsey earned her liberal arts degree from Des Moines Area Community College, her bachelor’s degree from Upper Iowa University, and her master’s degree from The University of Iowa. She has lived near Kalona for 5 years. She and her partner, Jake, together have five children who all attend Mid-Prairie. She has previously taught 4th grade, 3rd grade, kindergarten, and preschool. Lindsey’s favorite school subject is Social Studies, which drives her personal interest outside of school in history, particularly American history and the American West. She has enjoyed a great deal of time this summer reading books about American history. She loves to read and learn new things about old topics, listen to history-based podcasts, and watch documentaries. Lindsey also likes to garden and enjoys the many animals at their house, including dogs, cats, and chickens. She’s looking forward to 5th grade and very excited to meet the incoming students and families. #mphawks
