MPHS Families: It is time for 9 -12th grade families to sign up for a spring Parent/Teacher conference with your child's seminar teacher. This year conferences will be Tuesday, March 28th and Monday, April 3rd. Our goal for these conferences is to have parents, students, and seminar advisors on the same page with the student's potential schedule for next year by looking at what they requested. We want students to attend the conference, too, so please schedule a time that works around their schedules. Note: A couple teachers have conflicts and will reach out to their seminar students/parents if that is the case. Schedules for teachers will be posted outside their door in case there is another teacher you would like to meet with other than your students seminar teacher. You can look and see when other teachers will be available to chat. Please sign up by next Wednesday, March 22nd. To sign up, please sign into your parent PowerSchool account and the link can be found on the left hand side. After clicking on "Parent Teacher Conferences" there will be an option with two days listed. You can sign up by entering your email. If you have other students you want to schedule a conference for, you can switch to their account by clicking on their name at the upper left hand corner. Senior advisors will be sending out a separate email. You will not be using powerschool to sign up for senior conferences, rather a document that they will send. Please contact Chuck Banks, cbanks@mphawks.org or 319-646-6091, if you have questions.

Today Miss Ericha’s preschool class celebrated Global Rare Disease Day by learning about what makes us the same as and different than people living with rare diseases. A friend in the classroom brought pictures and items to show about his life, brought his favorite snack, and read a story about how we are all alike even with our differences. #mphawks

More than 350,000 out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrests occur in the US each year. Prompt bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) use greatly increase survival rates. Staff at the High School have been learning about recognizing and responding to a cardiac emergency with the assistance of ProjectADAM affiliates from UIHC. #mphawks
