Congratulations to MPHS Student of the Week, Jesse Stultz! Jesse was nominated by Mrs. Stutzman "Jesse has always been a good student, but I've noticed him lately doing a great job of "studenting" even though he's had to miss class a few times and had several tests to complete. He kept his cool and did well!" Great work, Jesse! #mphawks

Congratulations to MPHS Student of the Week, Adelyn Huston! Adelyn was nominated by Mrs. Schmidt, "Adelyn has been working very hard to be successful in FFA events lately. She has been rewarded for her hard work by being placed on the ballot for the SE District Reporter and advancing to District FFA competition in Ag Sales. She also was very inspirational to see as we delivered valentines to Pleasantview Nursing Home. It was easy to see how much she cares about the residents by the way she interacted with them." Congrats, Adelyn! #mphawks

Governor Kim Reynolds recently released a bill to restrict students’ cell phone use during instructional time. The bill establishes a floor, or a minimum standard, that all Iowa school districts will be required to adopt by July 1, 2025. The Mid-Prairie Board of Education has had multiple work sessions inviting individual to attend that were able to provide them with research based information. However, the Board of Education is interested on what you have to say on this matter. Please take time to provide the board members your thoughts as we all want what is best for our students. At the February 24th work session the board will be processing the data and encourage community members to attend. #mphawks

Kindergarten and 2nd grade students are participating in a Junior Achievement program this March. In order to make this a meaningful experience, we need a volunteer that is willing to help teach the lessons to our classrooms. The volunteer is provided with all materials and a short training. The kindergarten JA program, JA Ourselves ® uses hands-on activities to teach students about wants and needs. The 2nd grade program, JA Our Community®, uses fun activities to teach about jobs, roles, and responsibilities in our community. If this is something you are interested in, contact Andrea Porter at andrea.porter@ja.org
