In MPHS Geometry, the 3D unit is always a favorite because of all of the hands-on investigations! Students used Play-Doh to look at cross sections of 3D solids, made dilation mobiles to look at the effect of scaling an area, and built puppies and dogs out of snap cubes to look at how surface area and volume change much faster than side length. #mphawks

Our Mid-Prairie School District's Facilities Advisory Committee (FAC) has been hard at work to continue planning how to meet our district's facility needs. The most recent meeting focused on key developments from the 2022 Revenue Bond and laid out the progress made on the 2024 General Obligations Bond. 8th grade Spanish students have been learning about the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos. Today they learned about the history of Papel Picado and created their own examples. #mphawks

Thank you to Derek Yoder for coming to speak to 6th graders about the math he uses as a pharmacist at Mercy Hospital/UIHC! Students are converting in different units of measurement, and he had students calculate how much amoxicillin to dispense for a young patient! #mphawks
