This week, MPHS would like to spotlight Mrs. Melissa Rediger, School Counselor!

Mrs. Rediger truly wears many hats, and she works hard every day to help our students be prepared for whatever their postsecondary plans may be. From helping students with schedules and coordinating college visits and ACT testing to scholarship application assistance, she plays an important role in helping our students plan for their futures.

But Mrs. Rediger’s impact goes well beyond schedules and testing. She is there for students during challenging times, helping them find ways to persevere, build resilience, and move forward.

Her flexibility, dedication, and kid-first approach are greatly appreciated! If you see Mrs. Rediger, take a moment to thank her for all she does to help our students be prepared, resilient, and ready for life after high school!
Thank you, Mrs. Rediger, for everything you do for our kids and staff.

We’re proud to celebrate 16 Mid-Prairie High School students who were recognized through the Hills Bank Youth Salute program for their accomplishments in leadership, academics, and service to their school and community.

Youth Salute is a national program that recognizes outstanding high school students, with the Greater Iowa City Area program sponsored by Hills Bank. Students are nominated by their schools and participate in an application and interview process designed to recognize and encourage student leadership and achievement.

This year, 234 high school seniors from 17 area high schools were recognized during the Hills Bank Youth Salute program ceremony at Hancher Auditorium. Only 29 out of 234 received an extra scholarship from Hills Bank, and among those 29, 3 students are Golden Hawks!

Congratulations to:

Maëlys Beachy
Caedyn Huston
Adelyn Huston

Adding to the recognition, Caedyn Huston was also selected to attend the Youth Salute Leadership Conference in St. Louis, an exciting opportunity to connect with other student leaders and further develop leadership skills.

Congratulations to all 16 Mid-Prairie Youth Salute honorees! Your hard work, leadership, and commitment to making a difference in your school and community are worth celebrating. We’re proud to call you Golden Hawks!
