On Saturday, February 26, the Mid-Prairie Individual Events Speech team competed at Tri-County Schools for the Iowa High School Speech Association Individual Events District Speech Contest. Of the 14 students with 22 events that competed, 19 events are advancing to State IE Contest at Grinnell High School on Saturday, March 12. The results are as follows:

At the IHSSA State Individual Events Contest, the performers will have the chance to be nominated to perform at the IHSSA All-State Individual Events Festival, which will occur on Monday, March 28 at UNI in Cedar Falls. At least two of three judges in each performer's center must nominate a student for them to qualify for All-State. Participants in the IHSSA All-State Individual Events Festival represent the top 5% of all IE participants across the state of Iowa.

Congratulations to the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls basketball team on a great season! Their season and playoff run came to an end Saturday at Iowa City West High School in a 44-32 loss to Davenport Assumption in the Class 3A Region 4 final. #mphawks
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys basketball team will travel to Mt. Pleasant tonight for the Class 2A District 12 Championship game against the West Burlington Falcons. The Golden Hawks are a school record 22-0 and are ranked No. 2 in the final 2A poll of the year from the Associated Press. The Hawks were overall River Valley Conference champions. The victor of tonight’s game will play in the substate final at Muscatine on Saturday against the winner of Camanche and Northeast Goose Lake for the right to advance to the class 2A state tournament.
