As part of Mid-Prairie High School's effort to help support Trever Moen, students and staff members raised money by selecting a staff member to Kiss the Pig. Students placed money in a staff member's jar during lunch. The staff member with the most money in their jar got to kiss the pig. Mr. Kunz was the lucky winner! His jar raised $209.35. In 2nd place was Mrs. Rediger with $203.55 in her jar. In 3rd place was Mrs. Mercer with $189 in her jar. MPHS raised a total of $663.16 with this fundraiser. Great job Golden Hawks! #mphawks #seethestars #seeforyourself

MPHS Student of the Week is MP junior Marissa Cline. She was nominated by Mrs. Schmidt and Mrs. Silbaugh. Mrs. Silbaugh said, "Marissa is a wonderful student to have in class; she is an active learner and studies hard for tests. She is positive and an amazing representative in FFA and Wrestling. We are lucky to have students like her in our school." Great job, Marissa! #mphawks #seethestars #seeforyourself

The Mid-Prairie Community wants to help support Trever Moen, a Mid-Prairie junior, who has recently been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. During the basketball games on Monday, January 10th, we will be having a few fundraisers for the family. At halftime of both the varsity girls and varsity boys games we will be collecting donations for a half court shot contest. A prize will be awarded to anyone who makes the shot. Also, students will be selling green and white bracelets for $5, and there will be a container for free will donations. This week at the high school, students and staff are raising money by selecting a staff member to Kiss a Pig. The staff member who has the most money in their bucket on Friday afternoon will "get" to kiss a pig in between the varsity games on Monday night. We are also encouraging all fans to wear their Trever Moen gear to the game. Let’s pack the gym and show the Moen family they have the support of the community! We look forward to seeing many of you at the games and thank you for supporting our Mid-Prairie student athletes. #mphawks

Last night Elena Beachy (K-4 Spanish), Addi Pacha (HS English), & Edye Freeman (HS Spanish) took a mushroom cultivation class! They learned a lot of valuable information and inoculated their own logs with blue oyster mushrooms. They are hoping to harvest their first bounty next fall. What a great way to venture out and learn new things! #mphawks #seethestars #seeforyourself

Geometry ended the semester with a probability unit. The final lesson was asking and answering a probability question about the game "Rock, Paper, Scissors." Students had to ask a question about two events that could happen in the game and decide if these events are dependent or independent. They played several games to collect data and answer their question. What a fun way to end Geometry! #mphawks
