MP East Nurse Carmen came to each class to present a hands-on lesson about how to properly wash your hands. Students put on lotion and looked at the "germs" with a black light before & after properly washing their hands. It was good reminder before cold and flu season! #mphawks




MP Elementary STEM & Technology Education Teacher, Mrs. Simon, introduced MP East 2nd graders to Lego 2.O coding! The students worked very hard in small groups. They were so excited to use these new Legos to code. #mphawks




The Mid-Prairie West Elementary Community committee organized a community raising of comfort goods and items to provide to the U of I healthcare workers in response to a reach out email that Mr. Schneider received from their Critical Unit department.
We had a great response from the Mid-Prairie community who responded generously to our call for donations. The goods were delivered on Friday and were received with a lot of gratitude and appreciation for our community.

MPHS Patient Care Academy took a field trip to Kirkwood's Katz Family Healthcare Simulation Center last week. Students were also able to observe cadaver organs. It was a great experience!

Congratulations to MPHS first ever Student of the Week, Mid-Prairie Junior, Drake Mann. Drake was nominated by his Social Studies Teacher, Mrs. Silbaugh. Mrs. Silbaugh commented, "Drake has a gift of making other students feel heard and valued. He comes to class ready to learn and with a positive attitude. He is a great leader in my Western Civilizations class."
Drake gets be first in line for lunch and a parking spot in the circle drive for this week. Congrats Drake!

This week all students got to participate in a bus evacuation drill where they learned how to safely get off the bus if a crisis were to occur. A special thank you goes out to our transportation department for setting this up for our MP students!

In Ms. Sieren’s physics class at MPHS, students learned about impact forces and how cars are deigned to limit damage in crashes. Students applied what they learned by designing cars to protect an egg during a classroom egg demo derby. Hands-on, creative, and fun! #mphawks
