Elsa Schmidt – Agricultural Educator and FFA Advisor at Mid-Prairie High School in Wellman was named the 2019-2020 Iowa Golden Owl Award Winner today. Mrs. Schmidt was selected after more than 250 nominations were received from local community members for agricultural educators across Iowa. Her dedication and passion to go the extra mile to help her students were clear in these nominations. “Farming is in our roots at Nationwide and we’re proud to recognize agricultural teachers for their dedication to educating the next generation of agricultural leaders. These talented teachers have a tremendous impact on the students and communities they serve. We’ve received thousands of nominations over the years highlighting the impacts teachers make in their classrooms and communities. Those touching stories have inspired us to honor even more well deserving teachers.
