14 members of the Mid-Prairie Family Career and Community Leaders of America Chapter attended the Iowa FCCLA Fall Leadership Rally on Wednesday at Kirkwood in Cedar Rapids. Our members had a great time networking with students from across the state and learning about teamwork, service, and what it means to be a leader in your family, career, and community! Olivia Swartzendruber, Kinzlee Kiefer, and Kenlee Jeffries all completed in an Iowa FCCLA Event-- Olivia brought home third in the Chapter T-shirt Competition and Kinzlee earned first in the Interior Design competition. Congratulations to all of our competitors! #mphawks
On Friday night, our senior football players had the opportunity to recognize a teacher who has made a meaningful impact on their educational journey. Thank you to all of our dedicated Mid-Prairie staff who make every day a great day for our students and make Mid-Prairie a special place to call home! #mphawks

We've had the opportunity to talk with our students today, explaining why we're dressing in orange and black on Tuesday, September 30th, to support the loss of a student at Washington CSD. We want this to be intentional so that our students and staff understand why and what their support means. Thank you for showing empathy and support for our neighboring district through this challenging time.

Attention past and present MP staff!
MPHS Sociology students are inviting you to join us before the home varsity football game on October 10th at 6:00 pm to commemorate you as a key part of Mid-Prairie’s history.
FREE ADMISSION to the games for all current and former staff members and their families!
The Sociology class was challenged to create a project that would improve the school, community, state, or nation. Students chose to create a timeline that will be a permanent display for the school that will grow with each new addition to our district staff.
This Staff Walk of Fame will consist of eight framed canvases filled with your signatures marking each decade of the school’s history. In order to adequately represent the legacy of each staff member, current and former employees or family of the deceased are invited to participate.
This event will be held before the varsity home football game outside by the home bleachers, weather permitting. Alternate location will be in the high school cafeteria/auditorium. Those unable to attend will still have the opportunity to sign at their building the following week.
Please join us, and we hope to see you there!

Congratulations to MPHS Student of the Week, Lyndon Peak! Lyndon was nominated by Mrs. Baker, "He works super hard in math, and is willing to go out of his comfort zone. He did a great job cleaning up the FFA and other floats after the parade Wednesday and went around with a trash bag picking up candy and trash in the street. He helped Katherine Sieren transport her students outside last Friday for the pep rally and helped Mr. Cortum get breakfasts to kids who need them in the morning. He is always cheerful. " Great work, Lyndon! #mphawks

This week in Mrs. Baker's stats class at MPHS, students learned about correlations and trend lines. Students started by ranking music genres, then compared them with a classmate. The results were graphed and analyzed. Students predicted which pairs could share a playlist on a long road trip, which pairs could not, and which pairs would be hard to tell. Then they calculated Spearman's rank correlation coefficient and learned more about what that r value means. #mphawks
