Congratulations to the Golden Hawk girls golf team for their 3rd place finish at the 11 team Raider Invitational at Williamsburg. Olivia Swartzentruber led the team with a score of 90, followed by Morgyn Bender with 91, Addison English with 98, Lilly Miller with 108, Delani Blum with 115 and Paiton Chittick with 121. #mphawks

On Wednesday, the 8th-grade class had the opportunity to go to the Financial Literacy Fair, run by Kirkwood Workplace Learning Connection. Ahead of the field trip, students used their College & Career Readiness curriculum, Xello, to discover and choose a career that seemed compatible with their personality and preferred working environment. At the fair, they used their chosen career's annual and monthly salary to make informed decisions on how to budget a month in their "adult life". This included choosing transportation, a home, a meal plan, and much more. They had a great time and gave lots of positive feedback on how they have a better understanding of finances after high school! #mphawks

On Wednesday, Matthew McClellen, a piano technician, spoke to the 6th graders how he uses math when tuning and fixing a piano. He showed students how sound waves work, the tools to measure strings, and the technique of tuning a piano. Students tried tuning the piano too! #mphawks
