Mid-Prairie High School will be hosting the MP 8th-grade class for its annual etiquette dinner on Friday, May 2nd. Thanks to our community, we have one of the finest culinary facilities in Iowa, and our Culinary II and Bakery classes will be planning and preparing a four-course meal for this event. Unfortunately, serving a four-course meal for over 150 people is a monetary hurdle, so we are looking for donations for our luncheon! Each $50 donation receives an invite to the etiquette luncheon. During the meal, each contributing business attendee will be seated with 8th-grade students as we enjoy the meal prepared by our Culinary II and Bakery classes. The 8th-grade students will be prompted in dining etiquette and communicating with adults. We understand this event cannot happen without the generosity of the community. We also love the opportunity to interact with community members. This is always an event our students really look forward to! Thank you for your support! #mphawks

Mid-Prairie High School Drama Department proudly presents:
DEADLINE, by Don Zolidis
When eight mystery writers arrive at legendary mystery author Vera Braxton’s island mansion in the stormy North Atlantic, they think they are ready for the Deadline Challenge — twenty-four restful hours to write as much of their new novel as possible. But the Deadline Challenge is anything but restful. In reality, the writers are brought together to solve a murder—the victim yet be determined, and the killer yet to strike. If a writer can design and execute a perfect murder and get away with it, they’ll win a book deal with one of the most prestigious mystery publishers! Written by a legend in his own right (write?), Don Zolidis. Who will live? Who will die? Who will survive the DEADLINE?
Discover whodunit - or didn't - April 11 & 12 at 7:00 pm, and April 13 at 2:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased at https://mpdrama.booktix.com/

Students in Mr. Potts and Mrs. Baker's classes are learning about dilating 2 and 3-dimensional shapes. This week they made dilation mobiles to see how area changes and made snap cube puppies, which they doubled to make dogs. They had some great discussions about what doubling means - and how 1 cube becomes 8 when you double it!! #mphawks
