In 6th grade math, we had a guest speaker, Josh Tallo, a Cinematographer/Director of Photography from Chicago, explain the math used in the film industry. Students learned about film reels, lenses and angles, focal length, depth of field, the exposure triangle & the celebrities he's worked alongside! They even got a tour of the studio. #mphawks

In tech math at MPHS, students' math poems used the famous Fibonacci Sequence: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 and continue adding the last 2 numbers to get the next number. They wrote poems with lines containing the Fibonacci number of words. Here are their poems! #mphawks

Last Friday, Mr. Fosters 8th grade A.G. life science classes visited Hickory Hollow farms to learn about cattle production and all the careers involved in the industry. They toured the farm, saw the equipment, and looked at the cattle sold on March 1st sale. Huge thank you to Hickory Hollow for giving our students this opportunity.

All 30 events received Division 1 ratings, and will be advancing to the IHSSA's State Individual Events Contest at North Scott High School on Saturday, March 15.
