This Wednesday we hosted a lunchroom concert at MPMS during 6th-grade lunch featuring Logan and Solomon!
The whole story is that Logan asked if he and Solomon could perform for their classmates during lunch sometime. I agreed, but he had to pass an audition for the office staff before we could host the concert. Logan agreed, and using his ukulele, he performed and amazed all of us. We booked the concert date and set up the lunchroom to host.
In the video attached, you'll see and hear Logan and Solomon absolutely crush their performance! While it was awesome, maybe equally awesome is how their peers, teachers, and staff reacted after their performance. You can't make students cheer and you can't manufacture support. They decided to react on their own. It was amazing!
It takes a lot to get up in front of 100 peers, and it takes a lot to then cheer loudly for those same peers. It's going to be a fun year!!

Starting 7 years ago, the ELA team presented a reading challenge to all 6th-8th graders at Mid-Prairie Middle School. This program encourages students to read a variety of genres, thus building their reading skills and appreciation for different styles of literature. This year the staff has joined the challenge to show students that reading is fun for all ages. So far, students and staff have read and submitted over 700 books. The staff is currently leading with a total of 2.55 books read per member.
Prizes are awarded at the end of each quarter for students who reach benchmarks of 10, 20, 30, and 40 books. We’d like to thank our Mid-Prairie Middle School Student Boosters for providing funds for these prizes.
6th Grade Quarter 1 Winners: Reese Herteen (20 Books), Keilah Fleming (10 Books), Grant Gingerich (20 Books), and Morgan McGlynn (10 Books)
7th Grade Quarter 1 Winners: Willa Hughes, Caleb Billups, Caleb Meader, Easton Miller (All read 10 Books)
8th Grade Quarter 1 Winners: Stella Miller and Etta Bell (Both read 10 Books)
