Congratulations to our MPHS Student of the Week, Jack Greiner! Jack was nominated by Mrs. McClellen, "He has been an incredibly strong leader this year in choir and drama. He has a great attitude in class and is an excellent role model for younger students. He has taken on more roles of leadership, and I very much appreciate all that he has accomplished in the last four years. MP activities for week of Feb 5th

Nine Mid-Prairie Large Group Speech Events competed Saturday, February 3 at Pleasant Valley High School in Bettendorf for the Iowa High School Speech Association's State Large Group Speech Contest. Eight of the nine events earned division 1 ratings. Events that are nominated by at least two of the three judges that evaluated each performance will earn All-State recognition. This announcement will be made on Monday, February 5. Events that are given All-State nominations will be honored at the IHSSA All-State Festival, to be held at the Iowa State Center in Ames, Iowa on Saturday, February 17. Only the top 5% of student performers in the IHSSA achieve All-State nominations. Earning Division 1 Ratings at State Large Group Speech Contest: One Act Play - Accused of Comedy - Jacob Carrillo, Harlie Gehling, Niah Leaton and Grace Puttmann. Ensemble Acting - Brutally Honest Life Coach - River Gehling and Grace Puttmann. Ensemble Acting - The Rebound - Haydon Bailey, Logan McClellen, Jeremiah Rempel, and Caroline Schrader. Ensemble Acting - It's Not You - Tabitha Fisher, Harlie Gehling, Wren Harris, and Daniel Rodgers. Musical Theatre - Aladdin - Haydon Bailey, Jack Greiner, and Jeremiah Rempel. Musical Theatre - Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog - Logan McClellen and Caroline Schrader. Group Improvisation - Gingah and the Two Blind Mice - Jillian Clark, Niah Leaton, and Toby Olson.
