18 members of the Mid-Prairie Speech Team competed in 30 events at the Iowa High School Speech Association's State Individual Events Speech Contest at North Scott High School in Eldridge on Saturday, March 15, 2025. Of those 30 events, 27 got Division 1 ratings, and 10 earned All-State nominations, and are advancing to the IHSSA Individual Events All-State Festival on Monday, March 31 at the University of Northern Iowa.

Donuts with Grownups — Save the Date!
Mark your calendars for Friday, April 25 from 7:00–8:15 AM — it’s time for MP East's "Donuts with Grownups"! Start your morning with delicious homemade donuts, ice-cold milk, and great company. Bring a special grownup, enjoy breakfast together, and take a peek at our school. It’s a sweet way to kick off the day, and we can’t wait to see you there! #mphawks

In 6th grade math, we had a guest speaker, Josh Tallo, a Cinematographer/Director of Photography from Chicago, explain the math used in the film industry. Students learned about film reels, lenses and angles, focal length, depth of field, the exposure triangle & the celebrities he's worked alongside! They even got a tour of the studio. #mphawks










In tech math at MPHS, students' math poems used the famous Fibonacci Sequence:
1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 and continue adding the last 2 numbers to get the next number. They wrote poems with lines containing the Fibonacci number of words. Here are their poems! #mphawks

Last Friday, Mr. Fosters 8th grade A.G. life science classes visited Hickory Hollow farms to learn about cattle production and all the careers involved in the industry. They toured the farm, saw the equipment, and looked at the cattle sold on March 1st sale.
Huge thank you to Hickory Hollow for giving our students this opportunity.
