Getting outside the classroom and into the real world makes learning come alive.

Mr. Foster’s 7th grade students recently toured Brenneman Pork, where they had the opportunity to explore the main shop, feed mill, observation room, and take a look at the farrowing barn. Experiences like this give students a firsthand look at what it takes to operate a farm and the hard work behind the food we eat every day.

Opportunities to learn directly from local farmers help connect classroom learning to real life while giving students a deeper appreciation for agriculture and the dedication it takes to feed our communities.

A special thank you to Brenneman Pork for opening their doors and taking the time to share their knowledge and operation with our students. We appreciate your support in helping provide these meaningful, real-world learning experiences!

Congratulations to MPHS Student of the Week, Zion Price! Zion was nominated by Mr. Couglan, "Any time he is in the gym, whether in PE or seminar, he always makes sure every ball is picked up at the end of class. I truly appreciate this because he does it on his own, without being asked. Great job being respectful and helpful, Zion!" #mphawks

MPHS Student of the Week - Congrats, Zion!
Welcome to an enchanted kingdom where all your favorite fairy tale characters have come to retell their stories in fun and unique ways and—NOPE! Scratch that, we’re not doin’ that! We’ve all heard these stories a bazillion times, and Ella ain’t havin’ it. See, Ella's a woman of a certain age who has bulldozed her way into this fairy tale world. And she’s got a bone to pick. She’s tired of the false promises of “happily ever after” that never come true in the real world. Ella’s not retelling these stories—she's just writing what happens AFTER the endings, where reality collides with fairy tales in very messy ways. Now, a middle-aged Cinderella and the entire kingdom are rocked as these aging ingénues and neurotic princes try to deal with life after that perfect moment. Part farce, part vaudeville, part SNL, a little Rocky Horror and a totally wild ride that no one ever imagined after “happily ever after.”

If a musician receives "Best of Center" recognition, it means that they were considered by the judge to be the best performance that they heard that day at the contest.
