Community members are collecting signatures to ask the district to place a question on the November ballot for the next phase of facility improvements at the high school. The proposed project includes a 500-seat auditorium, new band and choir classrooms, and an event entrance with ADA-compliant restrooms and concessions.

Importantly, the plan is designed to move forward with no increase to the property tax levy rate.

Watch for opportunities to learn more and sign the petition!

MPMS Student of the Month Noelle 5th Grade Noelle does a fantastic job of helping others when they are out of the room to get their notes all caught up. She looks out for her classmates and friends in many different ways with either the notes or other ways to help them. She is ready to participate in class discussions and ask questions to further her learning and the learning of others around her. Noelle has a kind and caring heart to all staff and students. If someone near her is needing help, she makes sure that they get the help they need either from her or the teacher.
MPMS Student of the Month Eliza 6th Grade Eliza is an exemplary student. Staff can always count on her to be a positive role model in groups, help others, and always be respectful to those around her. She decides to lead by example in the classroom and produces exceptional work. As her confidence has grown this year, it has been fun watching her participate more in class discussions and share her unique and well thought-out perspectives with her classmates. We appreciate the creative mind she is willing to share. Keep up the great work, Eliza!
MPMS Student of the Month Cora 7th Grade Cora gets her work for classes done on time and rarely misses any days of school. Cora treats teachers and staff with respect and is kind to her peers. She follows expectations in all areas of the school.
MPMS Student of the Month Lucy 8th Grade Lucy went out of her way to make sure that her work was complete before an absence. She is always on task, prepared for class, participating, and ready to complete work. She will choose to work with students that maybe do not have a partner. She does not complain about who she may have to work with and is always a positive person when it comes to working with others. Lucy works so hard. She wants to do well in all things. She asks for help when it is needed and is not afraid to try at something even when it is hard. She is such an awesome student and person inside and outside of the classroom.

Kids’ Brains & Screens: A Community Conversation

Parents, grandparents, students, and community members—this is a conversation that affects all of us. Join us for an important workshop about helping kids develop healthy relationships with screens and technology at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24th, in the Mid-Prairie High School Cafeteria.
ScreenStrong Ambassador Jan Hochstetler, a retired school administrator and author, will share practical strategies to help families prevent and reverse childhood screen dependency. With years of experience working with children and families—and as a parent herself—Jan brings both professional insight and real-life perspective.

This event is open to everyone in the community:
• Parents and caregivers
• High school and middle school students
• Grandparents
• Educators and community members

A complimentary meal of pork burgers generously donated by Brenneman Pork, chips, water, and cookies will be available beginning at 6:00. Whether you’re looking for guidance, curious about the impact of screens on kids’ brains, or simply want to start meaningful conversations at home, this workshop offers practical tools and encouragement.

Scan the QR code on the flyer to learn more about ScreenStrong.

Hear what past audiences have said:

"Thank you for bringing this conversation to the **** community! It's a relief that other parents are thinking of these things too." - AG

"I took time off from work to attend and feel like it was well worth it! I've shared info and resources with friends and family." - M.H.

"I hope you can keep on presenting these findings. They are so important!" - V.D.

"It was very thorough and relevant. I just think that more people need to be hearing this often and again and again. I think there is a movement that is beginning with parents and this would be the perfect way to get them fired up and informed about what to do next."

Please help us spread the word and invite others who might benefit. We hope to see you there!
