Kids’ Brains & Screens: A Community Conversation
Parents, grandparents, students, and community members—this is a conversation that affects all of us. Join us for an important workshop about helping kids develop healthy relationships with screens and technology at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24th, in the Mid-Prairie High School Cafeteria.
ScreenStrong Ambassador Jan Hochstetler, a retired school administrator and author, will share practical strategies to help families prevent and reverse childhood screen dependency. With years of experience working with children and families—and as a parent herself—Jan brings both professional insight and real-life perspective.
This event is open to everyone in the community:
• Parents and caregivers
• High school and middle school students
• Grandparents
• Educators and community members
A complimentary meal of pork burgers generously donated by Brenneman Pork, chips, water, and cookies will be available beginning at 6:00. Whether you’re looking for guidance, curious about the impact of screens on kids’ brains, or simply want to start meaningful conversations at home, this workshop offers practical tools and encouragement.

Hear what past audiences have said:
"Thank you for bringing this conversation to the **** community! It's a relief that other parents are thinking of these things too." - AG
"I took time off from work to attend and feel like it was well worth it! I've shared info and resources with friends and family." - M.H.
"I hope you can keep on presenting these findings. They are so important!" - V.D.
"It was very thorough and relevant. I just think that more people need to be hearing this often and again and again. I think there is a movement that is beginning with parents and this would be the perfect way to get them fired up and informed about what to do next."
Please help us spread the word and invite others who might benefit. We hope to see you there!
