Visit the new Mid-Prairie Community School District facilities page! We have now added a button at the top right of the website labeled "Facilities". The new section of the district website was created to keep our community up-to-date and informed about all facility updates in progress and those still on our to-do list. There, you will find:
Project and construction updates
Facility Advisory Committee planning updates and meeting minutes
Opportunities for input
Frequently asked questions
Many of the topics are in direct response to questions or issues raised in the recent community survey. But, if you don’t find what you are looking for, tell us, and we will work to get you the answers you seek. Reach out to Superintendent Brian Stone at bstone@mphawks.org, (319) 646-6093 (office), or (641) 233-8662 (cell). #mphawks

On April 4th and 5th, senior choir members took a trip to Des Moines. This group of students was originally scheduled to go to New York in March of 2020, but that trip was canceled. So while they couldn't fit in a trip to New York, they still wanted to have a choir trip. The students visited the Des Moines Botanical Gardens and the Des Moines Art Center. Later that evening they attended The Lion King at the Des Moines Civic Center. It was a packed day, and they were very happy to have the experience! Thank you to the Fine Arts Boosters for helping the students with this, along with the MP staff for being supportive of the students attending. #mphawks

On Thursday, April 6, 211 Mid-Prairie High School students and 52 staff members helped with recovery efforts following the EF-4 tornado that devastated several homes and farms in the Wellman area. Students and staff helped to remove debris from yards and fields in several locations west and north of town. In addition, MPHS students and staff prepared 34 freezer meals that will be distributed to those still recovering. A big thank you to all the students and staff who took advantage of this opportunity to give back to the community that supports them every day. Go Hawks! #mphawks

Mid- Prairie Drama presents the 2023 spring play The Play That Goes Wrong, April 14 and 15 at 7 PM, and April 16 at 2 PM.
The Play That Goes Wrong By Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer & Henry Shields: From Mischief, Broadway masters of comedy, comes the smash hit farce. It’s opening night of the Cornley University Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor, and things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show—an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines). Nevertheless, our accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences. Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes, this comedy produced by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing, LLC, servicing the Dramatists Play Service collection, is guaranteed to leave you laughing!
